Gnostic Gospels and Quantum Physics – What Do They Have in Common?

During the last one hundred years, major discoveries have been made in science and religion;discoveries that are destined to bring about dramatic changes in our world view. The big surprise is that the combination of these discoveries could reunite science and spirituality.

Texts written by some of Jesus’ earliest followers were accidentally discovered in 1945. These texts are now known as the Gnostic Gospels. Scholars were shocked to find that these texts turned Bible teachings upside down.  At the same time, physicists were discovering a quantum universe that broke all the rules of classical physics.

Quantum physics and the Gnostic Gospels offer a new understanding of God and our place in the universe.They both teach that the visible universe is a virtual reality that’s projected from pure consciousness that exists at the quantum (subatomic) level of the universe.  We see a world of separate forms, but gnostic Christians and quantum physicists both discovered the universe is really one interconnected whole.

Nothing we see is real.Scientistsare proving the brain is really a receiving unit that translates information sent from the quantum level of the universe.  The brain allows us to believe that we live in a world of form, but we are not the bodies we think we are. And God is not a separate entity that lives outside the universe.

Gnosticism is not a religion, it is a spiritual approach.Gnostics reject dogma in favor of a direct experience of God. Since they let the universe tell them what it wants them to know, their writings harmonize with science.

Jesus’ gnostic teachings can help us correct our mistaken ideas about the universe and our place in it. Although Jesus didn’t use scientific language, he knew the visible world was an illusion of misery that we’ve created for ourselves. He taught his followers how to escape illusion and find real meaning and purpose in life.

Quantum physics will dramatically change our world view.  During that process, many cherished beliefs will be challenged by scientific findings.  We can cling to outdated, unscientific beliefs or we can investigate beliefs that harmonize with our quantum universe.  Jesus’ gnostic teachings offer a fresh and relevant explanation for the world’s problems. They give meaning and purpose to our lives as they as they direct us out of the chaos that dominates our world.
